The short answer
What is The Obscure?
The Obscure is a Los Angeles–based tribute band performing the music of The Cure. We play public shows, weddings, corporate events, private parties, clubs, and festivals throughout California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia.
Why The Cure still fills rooms
Few bands span as much emotional ground: the post-punk chill of the late '70s, the gothic weight of Pornography and Disintegration, and the bright, giddy pop that made them stadium stars. A great tribute has to carry all of it — and the crowd that shows up spans generations.
How we approach the music
We focus on the details fans hear: chorus-drenched guitars, melodic six-string bass, layered keys, and a vocal performance that captures the yearning without parody. Sets are paced like a real show — rising, falling, and building to the songs everyone came for.
